What this tool does
It finds the duration between two times, and adds or subtracts hours and minutes from a time. It does not take a calendar date, a time zone, a world clock, work breaks, or pay. Entered times and the result are not sent for measurement.
Time difference
From a start and an end it shows total hours, hours and minutes, and total minutes. If the end is earlier than the start, turn on next day.
Add or subtract hours and minutes
Add hours to time, or subtract them. Minutes of 60 or more roll into hours. Adding 0 leaves the time unchanged.
Crossing midnight
The result is marked same day, next day, or previous day. Daylight saving and regional offsets are not applied. This is plain clock arithmetic.
Examples
09:00 to 17:30 is 8 h 30 min, 510 minutes. 23:00 to 01:00 the next day is 2 h. 22:30 plus 3 h is 01:30 the next day. 01:00 minus 2 h is 23:00 the previous day.
