Methodology
OECD Average annual wages (AV_AN_WAGE): national-accounts total wages and salaries for the total economy, divided by the average number of dependent employees, converted to full-time equivalent using the ratio of average usual weekly hours of full-time employees to all employees. Slice: MEASURE=WG, UNIT_MEASURE=USD_PPP, PAY_PERIOD=A (annual), AGGREGATION_OPERATION=MEAN, SEX=_Z. PRICE_BASE=Q (constant prices, base year 2025) is used because the live SDMX cube publishes USD_PPP only for PRICE_BASE=Q; PRICE_BASE=V (current prices) is available for national currencies but not for USD_PPP. Values are gross NA wages/salaries, not net/take-home pay. Coverage is OECD members and published partners — not a global salary ranking.
Average annual wages are gross national-accounts wages and salaries for the total economy, divided by average dependent employees and converted to full-time equivalent. Figures are annual and PPP-converted for cross-country comparison. They are not net take-home pay and not GNI per capita.
